worry about deciding what you really love to do. If you *do* decide to
pursue a career in linguistics, getting a BA from U Texas is a great way to

Exactly- thank God we don't have to declare majors until our junior year!
(I'm off to the scary world of college next year too hehe) At least pick a
university which has other great departments than linguistics in case you do
change your mind- and from the mail I've gotten from U of Toronto, its got
great areas of study (a tad cold for the lieks of a MIamian though)!
Personally, I think I'll end up a career student, I change my mind about what
I want to do an awful lot! And once we get all the introductory classes our
first year or so, I think we'll have trouble deciding what we want to do, or
at least temporarily doubt what we've decided on. Also, you can always
transfer- rumor has it its not as annoying when dealing with papaerwork as
applying as a freshman. I at least hope so- this whole application thing is a
major pain in the neck! At any rate, no matter what you do, good luck!
