Having had them, I can say that my mind was perfectly cogent. The only
issue is that body control is extremely limited.
Anything pre-arranged, or that can be learned quickly enough to be
relevant during an episode, should work fine.
For an episode < 5 minutes, anything more complicated than yes/no
signaling is probably unnecessary. But for longer ones, you could
quickly work out a relatively complex system, if it made sense enough
and was physically possible.
