In Nakiltipkaspimak (back to being ergative, it seems).
There were no transitive verbs so I couldn't show off
the cool noun incorporation. :)
"Mis mikipukwayumxa, kila ipalak mis mitayalsixutli,
kila ti tiwasiksiyumli."
Interlinear:
ABS = absolutive
IMPFV = imperfective
DIR = direct evidence
PFV = perfective
INFER = inferential evidence marker
HEARSAY = hearsay evidence marker
mis mi -kipuk -wa -yum -xa
1SG:ABS 1SG-be:drunk-PRES-IMPFV-DIR
'I know I am drunk.'
kila ipalak mis mi -tayal -si -xut-li
but tomorrow 1SG:ABS 1SG-be:sober-FUT-PFV-INFER
'But tomorrow I will be sober, most likely.'
kila ti ti -wasik -si -yum -li
but 2SG:ABS 2SG-be:ugly-FUT-IMPFV-HEARSAY
'But I'm told that you will still be ugly.'
