Close, it's an off-glide. In other words, the second vowel in 'ai', 'au',
'ei'...

Either way is fine. I'd prefer separating the vowels. (See the post on

This is the first version of my attempt at a 'global IAL' (similar to
Oskar's 'World Pidgin'). The base languages are the top six languages in
the world in number of speakers: Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), English, Hindi,
Russian and Spanish. (I get most of my data from the Lojban database;
Lojban is based on the same six languages.)
