I'm one of those for whom stress is fairly non-obvious, particularly in
languages that don't abuse unstressed syllables quite as horribly as English.
What *really* gets me, tho, is the Swedish distinction between acute and grave
accent (AKA tone 1 and tone 2). The thought of learning a properly tonal
language is quite intimidating.
Unsurprisingly, my conlangs tend simple stress systems and no tones.
