That convention seems very reasonable to me. CXS is based on the IPA, and the IPA sign for j\ looks almost like a |j|, and I understand the meaning of CXS |\| is "almost like". What I'd have changed are the numbers used for the representation of vowels I use a lot, I'd like e\, E\, a\ better than |2, 9, 6|, but since someone on this list pointed out that |2| is the vowel of deux and |9| is the vowel of neuf, I'm a little bit more comfortable with this system. gry@s: j.
