I tried my rusty math at this, when Kash was sufficiently organized that I
could think about producing forms. 5 vowels. 15 initial C, ptckfsShmnñwrly;
19 medial, those plus mb,nd,nj,Ng; and l0 finals, ptkmnñrlsS.
V 5
CV 75
VC 50
CVC 750
CVCV 7125
CVCVC 71250
CVCVCV 678675
CVCVCVC 6786750 for a grand total of 7,544,680-- approximate because:
subtract a very few constraints: no #yi, no #rVr.. or ...rVr... --
add a few clusters: initial/medial ptk(r), medial mb,nd(r)--
and remember that some but not all cases of ...(u,o)wV... and
...ay(i,e)...are merely spelling conventions where {w,y} are not phonemic--
Final /S/ is rare on a base; very frequent as the neut. pl. marker(not
counted)--
Lots of the trisyllables are derivs. of bisyllables--
And then there are CVCV.CVCV(C) compounds. Well, I didn't even bother. The
neighborhood of 7 million seemed like quite enough. I think about 2000 have
been used so far.
Aside from /ñ/, the only other marked character (in WP) is s-acute for /S/,
my little bow to Sanskrit. A Spanish-based orthography-- actually the
original plan-- would avoid that. {x}for /S/, {j} for /h/ [x]; but then
{nj} [ndZ] would have been confusing.....
