Adverbs of motion in agglutinating languages

How do agglutinating languages express concepts like "downwards"? Are they
basic roots, or do they derive from other parts of speech? I'm stuck on
this point with the Khangaþyagon Babel text. So far, my best idea for
"downwards" is yiodam
yi 3p
od below
am destination

"To below oneself".

Is this anything like what natlangs do?

Pete
