As far as know, the Georgian name for ergative is smth like 'narrative',
and it's used only with certain verb forms like perfect. The other verb
forms require nominal structures with dative playing for patient.
E.g. {me v.sc`avl.ob kartul ena.s} =
i.N 1sn.study.PRS georgian language.D
