Personally I've found them useful, entertaining, challenging (sewing
instructions!!), only occasionally obtuse (vicious bunnies!!). For my
not-very-filled-out conworld, even these require require a good deal of
thought. Could there be, lurking somewhere in legendary lore, a "leaping
lizard" (Kash _tecuki_) that for some reason would go after a human with a
knife......?
Now the present series takes me, circuitously, into the Kash educational
system, which by free association will result in Lord knows how many new
words and questions. E.g., given a year of 464 days, how long is the school
year? And a fundamental question that is yet to be resolved: do Kash people
develop in line with _their_ year (so that a 10-year-old Kash is equivalent
to a Terran 10 y.o.-- even though the Kash has roughly the equivalent of 13
earth-years under his belt)-- or on some other schedule-- so that that
10y.o. Kash is physically/mentally more like a Terran 13 y.o.????? (I've
been tacitly assuming the latter).

Quite likely. And beware, you may be replaced.....:-)))
