An excellent and very constructive suggestion. And if a sufficient number
of us enter into this in a sufficiently open-minded spirit, I'm sure the
results would shed light on Jesse's original comments, in that our various
perspectives on conlangs and conlanging would tend to fall into fairly
discrete clumps, depending (I suspect) largely on the different ideas people
have of the goals of their conlanging.
Once the peer-review system was in place, it will naturally reflect on
itself, so that instead of Jesse's self-conscious 'schools', the conlanging
peer-review community as a whole would begin to describe and classify the
variety of its own methods and perspectives of criticism.
I'd certainly be delighted to take part.
Jonathan.
