Maybe there could be some links to X-SAMPA with a note that it is a common
transcription system used on the list. I think I generally lean in the
Kirshenbaum direction because it was what I first encountered and is pretty
well lodged in my brain.
Why not link to a nice X-SAMPA chart, and then something like
http://www.cs.brown.edu/~dpb/ascii-ipa.html
Just my 3-and-a-third cents.
