For me personally, physical violence or the credible threat thereof. Raising
one's hand, even if it isn't lowered, counts unless one is known to be the
type to make such gestures and never follow up. Likewise, raising one's voice
does not count unless, again, one is known to be the type who raises ones
voice only as a prelude to physical violence.
Which is not to say that I have never used violence, rather that I don't justify
or defend it. (I once shoplifted something, but I don't defend theft, either.)
