Among my friends and I we have a kind of inside joke slang. One example is
"JOL" which came about by one of us typing an error when writing LOL.
We also use ~ sometimes to mean "gay" because on one of our message boards
it looked like someone used the tilda to mean ~ (gay) rather than -
(straight) :).
No one else gets the second one, and my friend Brian thought about giving
me a shirt with a big ~ as a joke.
"You're so ~ dude!"
