Then there's the Northumbrian smallpipes, which are quite well known now in
the UK (well, in folk music circles, anyway!). But for real earpiercingness
you can't outdo the Breton Biniou Kozh, which is so high-pitched it even
scares the bats away. On this subject, how about some notes on musical
instruments in concultures?
