My french pronunciation has always been a little bad, but when I try to pronounce french I tend to treat the trill and fricative as allophones... the fricative is slightly more common in my speech if I say things in french and listen to myself... I always thought that was the case in french. Maybe it is because the two sound quite similar to my ears... and I find the trill slightly easier to do.
