Similarly, 5) Fun is fun (but you go too far). is like 6) Men were men (and sheep were nervous). and not like 7) Pretty is pretty which sounds totally tautological. "Fun" is a mass noun that has acquired an adjectival sense as well. -- But you, Wormtongue, you have done what you could for your true master. Some reward you have earned at least.
