Or very much into drugs! ;)))) Or maybe very religious, with constant referring
to the "outworld(s)".
But I like the idea of a very creative conculture. After all, you need one to
support such a hoaxlang (rather a chaoslang, at least that's how I feel when
I'm working on it :)) ).
Ob-Conlang:
Hehe, I thought I might share a feature of Maggel, as a little appetizer :)) .
I worked on that feature two days ago, so it's really new :)) . It's about the
degrees of adjectives. Adjectives don't change form in the comparative or
superlative. Rather, they take different prepositions to introduce the
comparison, depending on the kind of comparative. Thus "than" is |lu| [lY]: on
for superiority, |uir| [Ux]: under for inferiority and |te| [DI]: with for
equality. As for the superlative, only the superlative of superiority can be
rendered, and it's done with a construction including the compound preposition
|f ihbaodhoir| [f 'Ta:x]: between, among (|ibaodhoir| ['pa:x] means "middle").
So "the tallest" is translated as "tall among the tall" (in Maggel |doig f
ihbaodhoir an aduigmi| ['d2k f 'Ta:x @~n &'diUkpI], using X-SAMPA with ' for
primary stress and & for ae-ligature). I don't dare to make an interlinear or
I'm gonna have to write a three-page explanation and I don't have time right
now for that :(( .
Christophe.
