I thought that was sufficiently well-known not to warrant mention. At
the genetic level, most differences in "race" tend to disappear - but
that's been known for quite some time, so calling it the "latest
genetic science" is, while accurate, a tad odd. ("According to the
latest physical science, the speed of light in a vacuum is constant
for all observers!")
The genetic invisibility of race doesn't keep people from using
racially-derived cultural monikers, however, and it's widely
acceptable to do so. It's only certain such words that serve as bright
blinking warning beacons, shouting to the world that "Here there be
racism" - and "White" is definitely one of those.
