It was mispronounced /e:d@n/, but it should be /a:d@n/. I think the true
Arabic is _6adan_, or am I missing a long vowel somewhere?

Aden is a major port city in Yemen, and the former capital of the
now-defunct socialist state of South Yemen. (Sana'a, which was the
capital of North Yemen, is now the capital of all of Yemen.)
