In the 1928 Episcopalian Book of Common Prayer, there was mention of a rite
called "The Churching of Women", along the lines IIRC of what Isidora
mentions. Something to do with "purifying" the woman after childbirth?
Admittedly I'm hazy, since it had little to do with me....... I don't know
whether it's included in the modrunized prayer book.
