I am relatively new to conlanging and often don't know what anyone is talking about here. Rather than buy an expensive textbook, can someone direct me to a good website tutorial or introduction to linguistics. Unfortunately, most searches give me a bunch university websites, which, of course usually only have the homework assignments on them.
