That's very true - a poem, after all, reflects a worldview, which can
only be properly expressed in the language it was written in.  Altho,
that said, some types of poetry translate better, I think.  The core of
Biblical Hebrew poetry was parallellism ("thought rhyme"), which is
easier to translate than sound-rhyme, or, even worse, puns (which are
usually completely untranslatable).
