Here's what Andreas wrote:

I'm not quite sure if this counts. Arabic isn't quite pre-industrial.

A previous employer of mine used to be married to a man from Saudi. She
lived there for about three years. (Later divorced, now back in the states.)
I don't remember the city name, but it is close to the Kuwait border.
(Durhan? During Desert Storm, a US scud missile went off course and hit
about two miles from her ex-husband's house.)
Anyway, according to her, she learned about twenty different words for
"bored". She said there's "I think I'll watch the clouds for a moment"
bored, "ho hum, nothing to do..." bored, "I guess I'll start counting grains
of sand" bored, all the way up to a violent, maddening bored leading to
violent behavior.

I also knew an Israeli-American who lived in Israel for three years, and
once took a two week "camping trip" into Egypt. He also spoke Arabic. He
said that he knew of five or six words for boredom, but he also said his
trip into the desert convinced him there must be many more. As he relayed
the story:
Day 1: "Ahhh! Communing with nature! The majesty of God's creation!"
Day 2: "Another rock outcropping. Well, yes, that's nice."
Day 3: "Yo, Benjamin! Pass the bong! I'm BORED!"
Day 4: "More f*****g sand in my shoes! Where's the bong!"
Day 5: "We could have gone to Turkey. We could be resting in a hamam or
eating something, but no, let's commune with f*****g nature...."
