I just copied the name from my source (a French book) and there it was definitely a n-tilde. I don't know more about it :( . I don't think it's a mistake, since printing a n-tilde in French books is not the easiest thing (especially in this series of books which has to stay cheap enough. The whole poitn of it being to give professionnal information about any kind of subjects, and being available to everyone). Maybe a special transcription system...
