I forgot to mention complicating circumstances.
In cases where a word starts with a consonant followed by l, as in
_mlita'_ (fat), -la- is added between the consonant and the l, thus
_mlalita'_ (fattest), and -tu- has an epenthetic -a- added before the t,
and is added after the consonant, thus _matulita'_ (fatter)
In cases of Cw or Cy, the glide is vocalized and p (from -tw-) and -la-
is added after it, thus kwita' (brave) becomes kupita' (braver) and
kulaita' (bravest).
In cases of CaV, -tu- becomes -p- (from -tw-), but -la- is unchanges,
thus sauta' (heavy) becomes saputa' (heavier) and salauta' (heaviest)
