As far as I know, and I learnt this *before* May 1, Eire was the only member state of the EU that did not require proceedings to be translated into it's (other) national language of Gaelic, even though it's still regarded as an official language. To my knowledge, the daily proceedings of the Maltese government (are the nationals called Maltesers? Just a thought ;)) are in Maltese, and certainly daily communications are in Maltese too. Thus I'd hazard a guess that Maltese would be yet another market for translators in Brussel :) Livi
