Pretty much. Borders has a well-deserved reputation for surly and bitter
staff. The company apparently treats them like garbage, and they
reciprocate by treating the customers like garbage. That they can even
turn a profit is a testament to the mind-rotting power of brandname
recognition (and their own crooked business practices, but that's a
story for another day).
