out of its laboratory stage?
Simple. It's exactly analogous to genetic engineering
research. Either a) it becomes a commercial product (a
corplang - cf. Klingon) or b) if it has escaped from
the laboratory, there is a huge cover-up and
ominous-looking government thugs who just *don't
understand* and see it as a threat to all that is
decent come to seek and destroy it and Oliver Stone
makes a movie about it. Happens all the time, only the
government covers it up. Only Ollie knows the full
truth.

Sort of as rococo 18th and 19th century lablangs, I
think ;).
