Yep. "Choux de Bruxelles" is the way I learned it. But that's French
French. I don't know if there's a variant en Belgique.
As for the hackneyed idea for English speakers that the French term
of endearment is "my little cabbage", "mon petit chou" is short for
"chou à la crème", "cream puff", which makes a little more sense.
Then again, "ma puce", "my flea", is a terme affectueux, so go figger.
As for "Freedom fries" et al. This, too, shall pass. So let's all go
out to dinner, freedom treat.
