Yes indeed. Not much is known about the ancient Balkan languages (Illyrian,
Thracian, Mesapian, Phrygian, and perhaps a few others, including Venetian, but
AFAIK they are really in the middle between centum and satem languages.
A former professor of mine use to call the phenomenon "the inevitable C".
