I enjoy this (and the fact that you refer to me as a French person :)) ) to
reply that I've always found that extremely strange. I've been told many and
many times that smell was a strong factor in memories, that a smell could bring
back strong memories, and I must say that it *never* ever happened to me. I get
memories from places, and memories of the smells themselves when I get to smell
them again, but give me a smell out of context, even a very familiar one, and
it won't trigger any special memory to me.
In short, I really don't understand what people have with this connection
between smells and memories...
