You mean as opposed to /for@st/? Well, I notice /o/ and /O/ before
/r/. I used to think I had /O/ before /o/, but then I realized that it
wasn't nearly that low. It's /o/ but with certain modifications, it
seems slightly lower and slightly rounder. In addition, I THINK that
there's some slight rhoticization going on.
Anyhoo, my point was as opposed to the forms ending in /OIs/
