Extrapolating languages

Here's an idea for a con;ang. I'd be interested to know if anyone has
already done it.

There is a wealth of knowelege on how languages have changed over time and
some laws have been formulated to show how the change has taken place (Such
as Grimm's law.)

I have never heard of anyone extrapolating the laws of language change into
the future to see how a language might change in the future.
