One of those has to be for hm. Therefore, d /= [d]. Instead, I'll say
that gd = [d]. (Before, I called it gdh = [d]. But that would be a
trick.)

Cryptic. Does that mean that the initial g lengthens the next vowel? I'll
go with that. Then d = [d].
As for the latter half of the word, it's more difficult. You didn't
comment as much on it.
Well, |abgis|, according to what I seem to have worked out, is [EIz].
Word-final |s| is [z], I'll say. Then |gi| for [I] and |ab| for [E]?
Therefore:
|g| [:]
|d| [d]
|hm| [v] (Clint's first correct bit; H.S. Teoh's first correct bit)
|ab| [E]
|gi| [I]
|s| [z] (Clint's second correct bit, though he said Z; H.S. Teoh's
second correct bit)
|d| can't be [d], but I'll see how I score on this.
There's a game called Mastermind from which I learned logic of this sort.
It seems not to be working well, though.

Remember, multiple exclamation marks are a sure sign of a diseased
mind!!!
