Several times, over 2 decades, I tried keeping a dream diary so that I'd
remember having dreams. It never worked for me. Then, 3 years ago, I was
discovered to have sleep-apnea such that I seldom entred REM sleep. Once I
began using a CPAP when I slept, I began slowly to bgein remembering dreams.
About 90% of mine are what I call venting dreams - reworking some event or
experience I've had during the day or some issue/problem/frustration I'm
facing. About 5% involve what I call archetypical figures (e.g. gods, nature
spirit manifestations). The remaining 5% I call just weird - no
identifiable relations to anything in my waking world. Out of all of these,
only about 5% are lucid dreams.
