Except that by that time EI could be used as an unambiguous spelling for
/i:/, whereas H was still /e:/ in some places. Cf. the coptic mapping: E =
/e/, H = /e:/, I = /i/, EI = /i:/! (And /ei/ = EEI or HI, BTW...)
