Re: -able

Hi,

ObConlang: I've always wondered how to do this differently in Ayeri without
using both the rather lengthy "..., which X can" or suffixing the word for "can,
be able to" like in English. On the other hand, I don't see why "..., si mingyáng"
might not get reduced to some handy adverb -- I just don't know what it
could reduce to. /si mIN."ja:N/ (REL can-3s:m.AGT*), anyone?

BTW, German has _-bar_ in this case. Is that related to English _to bear_ by
any chance?

Regards
Carsten

*) I just used male singular as a generic example here. Other genders and
persons get other markers of course, see http://benung.freehostia.com/?
go=grammar&action=grammar#pronanaph for the complete list (and forgive me
if the link should have a random line break).
