If the "you like languages like your native tongue" hypothesis holds perhaps that's due to the sample here. :-) Personally, though I've taken French, I dislike most of the dialects of it that I've heard. Italian is bearable, Spanish so-so. That's just the sound of it, mind you, and I haven't heard a lot of any of these. And as for Chinese--I kept hearing it described as "musical," but it didn't sound at all musical to my admittedly Western-trained ear when I heard it. <wry look> YHL
