I'll vouch for it, too. Common in parts of the midwest. I think the |r| in this formation is non retroflex, though, the /S/ drawn back to the post palatal region by the |w|, which gives it its r-coloring. Strangely, I don't think it extends to "watch." I've never heard "wortch." Sally
