Yep! Though, even the "purely nationalistic" wars
were just big wars of identity. All our big
patriotic wars - 1776, 1812, 1861, 1870s, 1898 -
they were all about identity. American Identity,
granted, but identity all the same. Even the
later wars have some of that in em.

Well. If that's how he choses to live his life,
he has to justify it! That's the Way of it; even
warriors have to come up with a good reason for
why they do what they do.

Yes. People are very good about setting aside
such things in order to get to their goal.

Ah. The everyday warrior. His enemy isn't to be
found in a battle field with armies and weapons.
He's to be found in our own heads, cos he
bivouacs with us, messes with us, sits in on all
the tactical councils and knows all our weapons
and intelligence.
