"The last enemy to be destroyed is death"
In Franj:
Li fi awas a daistrujulur eit la mur
/li fi: 'a.gwas a dajs'truZ.Ul.ur ejt la mur/
in Noygwexāl:
ey-erxohoriqunilactaywār ey-gwarjēh
otārīd
ey-erx.ohor.iqun.ilac.taywār ey-gwarjēh
otār.īd
the[abstract]-final.PASS.destroy.participle[2ev].enemy
the[abstract]-death to_be.[PRS_3sgl_1ev]
in Xinkùtlan:
semòr disetlìlil tsèpiq supulàntlu
se.mòr dir.se.tlìl.il tsèpiq supulàn.tlu
Infinitive.die
far_future.infinitive.be_destroyed.Patientive enemy(1)
3600.th(2)
(1) "enemy" is related to their word for "nomad"
(2) "3600th" is metaphorically used to mean "last" or
"final". It's the highest number they have a number
for 60x60.
In Karnuugaan:
gkunpaqjml'xki vgahpa'xki'qjml karxki'tt
/'gkUn.G\aS.qm=l"xki 'vgah.G\aS"xki.qm=l 'kar.xkitt/
person.sword.towards'end break.sword'end'towards
blood.end'ancient
(Yay! I managed it!)
and finally in Atlahua (a new language that I started
about the same time as Karnuugaan (and which I work on
to get some relief from the tyranny of root strings
that is Karnuugaan!)):
mesiloru enuke koru anga keia ma nai fanusa 'ua
me.silo.ru enuke koru anga keia ma nai fanusa 'ua
stative.future enemy[ii](1) final 3sgl destroy PASS
habituative death[ii] to_be(emphatic)
(1) Atlahua has multiple noun classes à la Swahili.
Class ii is for non-dwarf people (it's spoken by
dwarves; another of my "let's mess with linguistic
clichés" fantasy-world conlangs). "Death" should
typically be in Class xvi (intangibles & abstract
nouns), but referring to a member of this class as
"enemy" would be weird.
