Hint hint (albeit from a non-fan of X-SAMPA)-- don't bother memorizing.
Just print it out and keep it in a safe place. You'll learn the parts you
want/need to know by osmosis, and by reading posts here.........

Yes. I've tried. It's supposed to be possible to draw really big square or
curly brackets, but it sure didn't work for me.....For some purposes, it
works to just write things out in linear fashion-- [+cons, +xxx, -yyy etc.]
IIRC it was McCawley who used to say in effect that the bigger/more complex
the rule, the more likely it was wrong in some way.
