I've had e-mail problems lately, so I lost a lot of your posts. And I've
been busy with other matters, even more important than conlanging. So sorry
if I failed to reply to any appropriate posts.
Now on to some humor...
As many of you are probably aware, American hip-hop artist Snoop Dogg has
come up with his own answer to Pig Latin, Elmerfuddese and Swedish Chef (aka
Bork Bork Bork). It's a slanglang (?) called Shizzle. In his raps, he's
known to substitute words with a construction of the initial consonant of
that word followed by 'izzle'. Therefore, "Snoop Dogg is in the house"
becomes "Snoop D-O-double Gizzle in da hizzle". The rest of it is a Los
Angeles variant of more-or-less African-American Vernacular English.
'Shizzle' itself is a shizzolation of a famous four-letter word, which is a
term corresponding to 'things' and 'stuff' in more genteel speech.
Now before you go off calling me racist (I doubt you will), this website
appears to be done by Snoop himself as both self-promotion and self-parody,
since there's an ad for one of his CD's.
The website: http://www.asksnoop.com/. You can convert any homepage (default
is cnn.com) to Shizzle. I wouldn't recommend that right now, since the lead
story is the murder of the South Korean hostage by al-Qa'ida cultists in
It's based on the Universal Translator:
http://www.psyclops.com/translator/translator.shtml, which translates to
things like Hacker (aka l33t h4x0r), Smurf and Cockney rhyming slang.
