Interesting word.
As for my conlang, I have distinctions in the verb for "to go" as
follows:
faki'l (to go, inanimate object)
ka'ntus (to go, alone but with importance to the social group)
vuli'k (to go, alone)
zaba' (to go, in a social setting)
I rather like that distinction.
Also, going back to the keywords thread a while back, I've found the
following one:
wapatima'naa - wa-pati-ma'naa - G6-collective-duty, thus literally
"collection of duties", it refers to one's place in society, one's role
in life. To go outside the _patimanaa_ is considered a great sin.
"(S)he does not know her _patimanaa_" would be used of a person who is
lost, who does not know what to do with his/her life. "(S)he
scorns/rejects her _patimanaa_" is an insult, it refers to a person who
knows their place, but refuses to stay within it. It is considered
equal to rejecting the society, rejecting the people.
