JRRT, that consummate academic, has said it all (as usual): this time in "On
Fairy-Stories", which I don't have to hand, but to this effect: that adults are
scorned for *reading* fairy-stories (fantasy) as literature, but it is acceptable
to *study* them -- but then it is acceptable to *study* old paper bags, too.
