I'm not sure which method they used with me. In fact
I don't remember anything about my learning-to-read
process... except I knew how to read before entering
school (yes, 'bookworm' is a proper term :), and I
remember, in one vivid flash, the moment when I called
my mom while pointing at an uppercase 'X' in a book,
and asked 'How do you read this?'.
