You should beg, borrow, buy or steal two moderately helpful books: "Creating
Web Pages for Dummies" (some html hints, mostly about doing neat effects,
how to use wysiwyg editors like Front Page, Netscape and IIRC Geocities),
and "HTML for Dummies" (lots of nitty-gritty and helpful tables of all or
most of the codes). Look at webmonkey.com (I think that's it) too. Both
books contain more than one needs to know, but it's handy to have it all in
one place. And study the source code of web-pages you like.
