:)) Japanese people have a bit of that thing. Their secular calendar has a 7- day week, but they still have the lunar calendar (used only with Shinto IIRC) with a 6-day week. Now the lunar calendar is never used, but the 6-day week is still very important. Each of those days is considered auspicious for some action and/or inauspicious for some other, at different times of the day. So when it comes to signing a contract, moving to a new apartment, etc... people always have them on a day and moment which is auspicious for this action, depending thus on the lunar calendar (AFAIK this practice is very common, even among people who can't be considered to be superstitious. It seems that it's the kind: "well, I'm not superstitious, but there's no harm in not tempting the devil" :)) ). It may sometimes mean to postpone a meeting for more than a week because the only auspicious time on this week would be on Sunday.
