English and Spanish in New Mexico, English and Olelo Hawai'i in Hawaii. The
majority of US states are just English. Many states have no official
language, like Texas, which is bilingual _de facto_. I think some of the
Indian reservations make laws in their native language and English.

Yeah, it's sad; Louisiana is just English officially. There are a million
plus Francophones in the US, and a major portion live in Acadiana, Baton
Rouge and New Orleans. But I think a lot of primary schools teach Cajun. I
just wish there wasn't so much of this anti-French sentiment a' gwine. I
figured that after hating the Germans for so long we'd get that out of our
system. Plus my mother's German *and* French (with roots in Louisiana and
East Texas), so that naturally bothers me.
And yes, I do need to see _Southern Comfort_ again. I like war movies,
though I'm no warmonger.
